The New York Mets have posted a job opening where one lucky person could be in charge of becoming Mr. and/or Mrs. Met - all while getting paid up to nearly $90,000 a year.
This listing, posted to ZipRecruiter and found on Google Jobs, is looking for a 'high-energy, enthusiastic individual to represent our brand as our mascot.'
According to the listing, the right applicant must have 'proven mascot experience 'and the ability 'to perform physically demanding activities' while wearing the costume.
But duties and qualifications go beyond waving and staying silent - you must also have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to manage department budgets.
Other requirements include creating and executing mascot-related social media content, executing a 'Mascot Fantasy Camp' and making sure both the costume and the 'Met Mobile' vehicle are clean.
The New York Mets are holding auditions to fill a vacancy for their mascots Mr. and Mrs. Met
Mr. Met is the oldest mascot in the MLB, making his debut all the way back in the 1964 season
The salary range for the job falls between $67,426 and $89,902 - with the expectation of 20-25 administrative hours and 6-24 performance hours a week.
Anyone interested would have to be free to audition for the role on the night of May 15th.
Mr. Met made his mascot debut back in the 1964 season and became the first live-action mascot in Major League Baseball.
Mrs. Met was brought along shortly after and ever since, the two have been entertaining fans all over the Mets' former home of Shea Stadium and now, at Citi Field.
